The Art Exchange Collection is a show that features works acquired by the Art Exchange group, a group based in Whakatāne who have a keen eye for art. Together they have purchased works from award-winners of the Molly Morpeth Awards from 2012 – 2022. This collection is the result of many hours of deliberation each year of the Molly Morpeth Canaday Awards. The pieces chosen have helped the group develop an understanding and enjoyment of both challenging and likeable art.

Every three months the group met for dinner and discussion. At these meetings the works got rotated so that each member could enjoy new piece of art on their wall. The group winds up after this exhibition and the works will either be distributed among members, sold or dispersed by a group decision.
