Join us at Te Kōputu a te whanga a Toi – the Whakatane Library and Exhibition Centre for this free workshop on Saturday 14 April, led by artistic duo Edwards + Johann (Victoria Edwards and Ina Johann). Participants will explore some aspects of generating ideas and making work together - Co-Lab is a hands-on workshop, where action is supported by discussion.
Edwards + Johann’s collaborative work interweaves drawing, painting, performative activities, video and installation with photography. A connecting thread in their visual storytelling is the use of the obsessive line drawing over an existing object as motif for the tensions and dichotomies inherent in life. They are very interested in collaboration - working together - and the way it changes things.
Edwards + Johann have work in two of Te Kōputu's galleries from 21 April - 28 June. More work by the duo can be viewed online.
This workshop is free and suitable for children aged 12 -16 years. Please note that places are limited!
Reserve up to three places via our online workshop application form.
This workshop is running with thanks to funding provided by Creative New Zealand.
