Richard Maloy is an artist with a multi-disciplinary practice, spanning sculpture, installation and other media. Performativity and process are central ideologies that inform his work, which has been included in a number of national and international collections, and respected arts publications. He is also a Lecturer of Fine Arts at Whitecliffe College of Art and Design.
This talk by Maloy will focus on his recent sculptural and installation projects, including:
- Yellow Structure (large scale sculpture, Art Basel Hong Kong)
- Tree Hut (commissioned for Freedom Farmers, Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki)
- All the things I did (installation and archive of all the work Maloy made as an art school student, housed at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki, Chartwell Collection)
- Big Yellow (monumental sculptural work, Asia Pacific Triennial, Queensland Art Gallery of Modern Art)
