Muka Youth Prints Exhibition

Date:

Friday, 14 August 2015 - 12:00am to Saturday, 15 August 2015 - 12:00am

Muka Youth Prints is an international initiative which aims to make art accessible to young people. On 14–15 August, at the Little Orchard Room at Te Kōputu a te whanga a Toi, every young person in our community has a unique opportunity to buy an original lithograph by a top NZ or international artist at a very affordable price. Open only to 5-18 year olds, Muka Youth Prints aims to get young people interested and involved in the arts by putting an artwork in their hands. The artists’ names are not disclosed until after the exhibition, to ensure that buyers make their choice purely on the basis of their personal response to the work. Adults can purchase vouchers and are encouraged to give the gift of art to a young person.

These original lithographs are 100 x 200 mm and only $67 each.

Contact Victoria Sinclair at the Whakatāne Museum and Gallery (07 306 0505) for more information.
