Location: Front Window  - Te Kōputu a te whanga a Toi - Whakatāne Library and Exhibition Centre

Edwards + Johann will develop a site-specific installation for the window space. This work is deeply rooted in place and attempts to mine beneath known knowledge, teasing out layers of content and experience from a variety of research material about this place called Whakaari/White Island. It explores the basic human desire to connect and discover, understand, explain and feel the world we live in. They will tentatively draw out connections forming a lab-like visual proposition – one that perhaps makes us wonder. A tentative probing for a shifted understanding about this wildly complex, mysterious landscape of ancient primal forces.
