Date:
Location: Brookfields Lawyers Gallery, Te Kōputu a te whanga a Toi – Whakatāne Library and Exhibition Centre
This wānanga is held in conjunction with PUNA exhibition at Te Kōputu, which showcases emerging contemporary artists from around Aotearoa. PUNA curator Sarah Hudson extends an invitation to local rangatahi to get hands-on and create art that speaks to the issues of our rohe.
There will be a gallery tour and discussion of some of the political concepts behind the art in the exhibition. We’ll also look at global youth-led movements and some creative activism closer to home.
This free event is suitable for rangatahi aged 15-25. All art materials are provided.
