What do you think of when you hear the word ‘mother’? This question has occupied the minds of 11 artists from around the country, who have been brought together to critically discuss an inclusive interpretation of motherhood, mothering and maternal roles.
In this talk, Jeremy will share images and stories of the many abandoned places he has documented, from Chernobyl in the Ukraine to an abandoned hospital in Hawkes Bay, dead cities in Latvia and a secret underground Soviet bunker.
This event is inspired by the stunningly honest photographic series Vessel, by Leala Faleseuga. We invite you to join us and reflect on your own birth story. In following Faleseuga’s personal diary-style model, you’ll have time to reflect back and creatively capture key memories from when you became a parent.
Thank you for your interest, this event is fully booked. What makes a monster a monster? Create your own with Plenty cover artist and illustrator Katrin Kadelke.
